RAMIE’s scientific name is Boehmeria Nives and it comes from the Far East. Its fiber is considered to be one of the strongest among vegetable fibers, having a tensile strength eight times greater than cotton or silk. The most important use of ramie fiber is for fabric production either pure or blended.
